Diabetic Clinic
These clinics are by appointment and are open to all diabetics for reviews and advice. The diabetic clinic is run on a Thursday afternoon with our diabetic trained nurse.
To enable us to accurately monitor your recent blood sugar levels you will also be required to book a fasting blood test (early appointment - no food - water only for 12 hours prior to test), with the blood nurse, at least two weeks before your diabetic appointment.
Due to the new Department of Health Guidelines it is now necessary to test for microalbuminuria which requires an early morning urine sample to be taken on the morning of your blood test, and handed into reception on arrival, to be sent off for analysis. You will therefore need to collect a white topped specimen bottle before your blood appointment, so you can bring this with you on the day of blood test.
If you have any optician reports or have attended for either NHS or private Chiropody could you please bring a copy with you when you attend your appointment.
There is a monthly clinic run by the podiatrists for diabetic patients. If you would like to know when the podiatrist is attending please contact reception.
