We offer a range of clinics and services at Tadworth Medical Centre.

The clinics are by appointment only.  Please contact the surgery if you would like to know more about the clinic or would like to book an appointment.

The clinics and services include:
Antenatal Clinic

Run by a midwife twice weekly on Wednesday and Friday.
Baby Clinic

Run by a doctor and a nurse on a Tuesday morning.
Family Planning

These appointments are available for all aspects of sexual health issues.  You can request to see either a GP or a member of the nursing team.
Cervical Smears

Our practice nurses take most smears and these are usually taken during the nurse’s normal clinic times Monday to Friday.  Please note that mid -cycle (usually 14 days after your last period) is the best time to have your smear taken because a clearer background to the sample can be gained around this time.
Diabetic Clinic

Open to all diabetics for reviews and advice.  The diabetic clinic is run on a Thursday afternoon with our nurses and a GP.

To enable us to accurately monitor your recent blood sugar levels you will also be required to book a fasting blood test (early appointment - no food - water only for 14 hours prior test), with the blood nurse, at least two weeks before your diabetic appointment.

Due to new Government Guidelines it is now necessary to test for microalbuminuria which requires an early morning urine sample to be taken on the morning of your blood test, and handed into reception on arrival, to be sent off for analysis.  You will therefore need to collect a white topped specimen bottle before your blood appointment, so you can bring this with you on the day of blood test.

If you have any Optician reports or have attended for either NHS or private Chiropody could you please bring a copy with you when you attend your appointment.

Once a month we also have a podiatrist who attends the diabetic clinic.  If you would like to know what date the podiatrist is attending please contact reception.
Asthma / COPD Clinic

Both the asthma clinic and the COPD clinic are nurse-led and are open to all asthmatics or patients with COPD for assessment advice and management of symptoms.  When booking please make a double appointment.

If you are going abroad and would like to know what vaccinations you will need you can make an appointment in our travel clinic with one of our practice nurses.  The nurse will advise you on vaccinations and can start vaccinating you on your first appointment! Tadworth Medical Centre is a registered yellow fever centre.

Please note that there may be a charge for some travel vaccinations.  If possible try to book your travel clinic appointment at least six weeks prior to your departure.
Phlebotomy Service

The practice runs a phlebotomy service for patients requiring blood tests.  These take place on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings.  If you require a fasting blood test (you now need to fast for 14 hours prior to blood test), please let the receptionist know and she will endeavour to get you the earliest appointment possible!
